A drunken driver crashed into a soldier’s car during the curfew

In Kyiv, on November 3, 2024, an intoxicated driver of an Audi A5 drove into a Mitsubishi L200 military vehicle during the curfew, as a result of which a serviceman and a female passenger of his car were injured.

This is reported by the Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office.

The driver, who was recorded at 2.4 ppm of alcohol, was informed of the suspicion of violation of road safety rules, which caused moderate injuries (Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The investigation established that the driver did not notice the military vehicle standing in front of him, which led to a collision and hitting a serviceman who was nearby. As a result of the accident, a 37-year-old serviceman and a 36-year-old passenger in an Audi A5 received multiple injuries and were hospitalized.

According to the prosecutor’s office, the sanction of the article provides up to three years of imprisonment with the possibility of deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of three to five years. The investigation is ongoing.
