A Chinese startup has introduced Bumi, an affordable humanoid robot that can dance

Vlad Cherevko I have been interested in various types of electronics and technologies since the early 2000s. I like to play computer games and understand the operation of various gadgets. I regularly follow the news of the technology world and write materials about it myself.

The Chinese company Noetix Robotics presented the humanoid robot Bumi, focused on the consumer and educational segments, writes TechNode. The robot is 94 cm tall, weighs 12 kg and costs 10,000 yuan (~$1,400), which is comparable to the price of a flagship smartphone.

Unlike industrial models, Bumi is not intended for work in production or scientific laboratories. The robot has a lightweight composite construction, its own motion control system, and an open programming interface that promotes learning and development of creative skills. Early demonstrations show his ability to walk and dance.

Noetix Robotics plans to open pre-orders for the Bumi by the end of 2025.

Bumi is also positioned as a more affordable alternative to other models, including the Unitree R1, which is sold in China for ~$5,900. This model is 121 cm tall, weighs 25 kg and can perform acrobatic tricks including flips, boxing moves, handstands and running on uneven surfaces.
