Details: In a recording released on September 20, a North Korean military officer answers questions from representatives of Ukrainian special services through an interpreter.
According to the prisoner, he, together with about a hundred compatriots, arrived in Russia on a ship, then they were taken by train.
A North Korean soldier says that some of his compatriots were trained to work with heavy Russian military equipment, but he, they say, did not undergo such training.
The man says that he joined the ranks of the North Korean army at the age of 17 and completed his military service.
He claims that he did not know that he would fight in Russia, and he did not know against whom he would fight.
When asked about the losses of the North Korean army, the prisoner says that “there were a lot of casualties in the battles.”
His mother does not know where her son is now. When asked “What did you know about the world outside North Korea?” the captive replies “Not much”.
Literally: “Did you know anything about South Korea?
“I only know that there are fewer mountains in South Korea than in North Korea.”
