Previously, the fifth president, Petro Poroshenko, said that he wanted to post bail for Galushkin, whom he “knows well from the defense of Kyiv in the winter of 2022.”
“General Yury Galushkin’s lawyers have just informed that another legal entity contributed the necessary funds for bail,” Poroshenko wrote on Facebook.
On January 21, the court chose a preventive measure for Yury Galushkin in the form of detention with the alternative of posting bail in the amount of five million hryvnias.
On January 20, Yuriy Galushkin, ex-commissioned officer of the 125th brigade of the TrO Artur Horbenka, former commander of the 415th battalion of the 23rd OMBr Ilya Lapin were detained on the charge that they “did not provide adequate protection of Kharkiv Oblast during the enemy’s offensive in May 2024.”
Investigators state that “the officials did not prepare the defense of the border regions of Kharkiv Oblast and lost control of the battle during the repeated attack of the Rashists on the regional center.”
According to the SBU, “the perpetrators violated the requirements of combat statutes during the preparation of defensive lines in the area of responsibility of military formations and units of the OTU. In addition, during the battle, the officials did not use the entire arsenal of possible measures to repel and stop the aggressor’s attack.
