A baby was found in a garbage dump in Khmelnytskyi

The child was spotted in the evening of January 15 on the street. Ternopilska, concerned passers-by reported this to the police.

The police established that the boy was born at home by a 36-year-old local woman. She wrapped the child in a towel and carried it outside in a plastic bag.

The child was in a satisfactory condition, Inna Glega, the head of the communication sector of the main department of the National Police in the region, said in a comment to “Suspil”.

“Shvidka” took the newborn to the intensive care unit of the Khmelnytskyi City Children’s Hospital. The woman in labor was also hospitalized.

Based on this fact, the investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 Art. 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — leaving in danger. Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
