More than half of Ukrainians believe that a potential agreement to end the war between Russia and Ukraine will be doomed to failure if it does not provide for the full restoration of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
This is evidenced by the results of a public opinion survey by KMIS.
57% of surveyed Ukrainians agreed that “any peace agreement that does not restore the full territorial integrity of Ukraine is doomed to failure.” The majority is kept in different groups by age, region of residence and language practice in private life.
In particular, 75% of Ukrainians living in the west, as well as 61% in the center and south, and 58% of Ukrainians in the east fully agree or rather agree with this statement.
Those who completely or rather agree with the fact that “any peace agreement that does not restore the full territorial integrity of Ukraine is doomed to failure” are 6 percentage points more likely to perceive Trump’s election negatively, sociologists noted.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, named the conditions he considers fair for the start of negotiations with Russia. In particular, this is the return of the Russian army to the line of a full-scale invasion.
And US President Donald Trump said that he will most likely introduce new sanctions against Russia. This will happen if the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not sit down at the negotiating table regarding the war in Ukraine.
