Lille’s attacking midfielder Ethan Mbappe suffered a serious injury and was out of the team’s playing rhythm for a long time.

As reported Foot Marketa medical examination confirmed a partial rupture of the tendon of the right thigh.

The head coach of Lille, Bruno Genesio, admitted even after the defeat against Lyon (0:1) that he was worried about the state of the young footballer, noting that the team had lost him “for a certain time”. The mentor’s fears were confirmed, although the diagnosis was not the worst possible – the gap is not complete.

According to preliminary estimates, the 19-year-old winger will miss at least two months. At the same time, recovery times may increase depending on the healing process of the injury.

The injury is a particular concern given Mbappe’s past experience. In May of last year, he suffered a similar injury, but to his left leg, which required surgery and led to a four-month break. This time, the operation will probably be avoided, but the rehabilitation process will be long.

In the current season, Ethan Mbappe, who is the younger brother of star Kylian Mbappe, played 15 matches (537 minutes) for Lille, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
