Last summer, Italian specialist Alberto Gilardino took charge of Pisa, which had just returned to the “elite” division from second place in Serie B.
However, the team’s performances among the best teams in the country are, to put it mildly, unsatisfactory.
The day before, Pisa had lost 11 matches in the current campaign of the championship, losing at home to Sassuolo (1:3), out of 23 played, while another 11 meetings for them ended in a draw and only once managed to take three points.
And just a few hours later, the club’s management made a decision that had been pending for more than one week — to fire the head coach.
