The 18-year-old forward joined Utrecht on loan from Bayer Leverkusen with the option of a full transfer.
Stepanov is 192 cm tall, plays as a central striker and is considered one of the promising players of his generation in Ukraine.
Artem began his football career in Shakhtar’s academy, and in 2022 he moved to Germany, where he became a player in the youth system of Bayer Leverkusen.
In the first half of the 2025/26 season, the Ukrainian played for Nuremberg on loan in the second Bundesliga, during which he played 14 matches (753 minutes), scored one goal and provided one assist.
