Now the fate of the transfer depends on the London club: if Peles manages to find an adequate replacement for the 28-year-old forward, the Frenchman can move to Serie A already during the winter transfer window. Otherwise, the agreement will be postponed to the summer period.
Previously, Juventus was considered the main contender for Matet, who even agreed personal terms with the player. However, it was Milan who showed more activity in negotiations with Crystal Peles and managed to come close to signing the forward.
In the current season, Mateta played 34 matches in all competitions, scoring 10 goals and two assists. According to Transfermarkt, the striker’s market value is around 40 million euros.
