The first half was active with mutual moments. Lecce had a chance from Santiago Pierotti in the 60th second, and Lassana Coulibaly shot from a distance – both shots were saved by Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel. Also, the ball bounced off the crossbar after Ilber Ramadani’s shot.
In the second half, the visitors created the first real chance in the 54th minute when Bulai Dia put the ball through Mattia Dzaccagni, but Volodymyr Falcone confidently cleared it out of the net. Walid Cheddirah, making his Lecce debut following his move from Sassuolo, was unable to hit the empty net and Riccardo Sottil’s free-kick was saved by Provedel.
In the dying minutes, both teams had chances to change the score, with Omri Handelman unable to close down Sottil’s pass and Kenneth Taylor shooting just wide after a counterattack started by Gustav Isaksen.
