The head coach of Veres Oleg Shandruk summed up the results of the first half of the season, and also talked about the goals and plans of the team before the second part of the campaign in the UPL.

“Currently, we are eleventh. The team’s task is to at least get into the top ten. Therefore, of course, we are not fulfilling this task yet. But we still have half of the championship ahead of us. Accordingly, we want to improve the quality of the game, our tournament position. I want to emphasize once again, I keep saying this, that the team has changed a lot in the summer. It takes time to implement these changes qualitatively. We are now using this time effectively, in my opinion, and we can promise the fans that in the spring part of the season, the team will look more efficient.

We need to improve our game in attack, in the attacking phase, create more, score more goals. We are working on it now, working hard. The players understand what needs to be improved. And, of course, standards. Standards in both defense and attack. These are the things where we can progress, where the team at the expense of standards can have good dividends and gain points.

As for the atmosphere within the team, everything is great here. What I see from the outside — the players communicate well, support each other, demand maximum dedication from each other within the standards that are introduced in the team. So I’m happy with the atmosphere. I hope that we can only improve it and the boys will enter the season with a good mood. By chance, I want to invite our ardent fans to a home game with Poltava. Emotions are guaranteed,” the club’s press service quotes Shandruk as saying.

After 15 games, Veres scored 18 points and is 11th in the UPL standings.
