Sumgait of Azerbaijan officially announced the signing of attacking midfielder from Zhytomyr Polissya Emil Mustafayev.

According to the press service of the club, the 24-year-old midfielder joined Sumgait on loan until the end of the 2025/26 season. Mustafaev missed the first part of the current campaign due to an injury and did not play a single match.

Last season, the Azerbaijani footballer of Ukrainian origin played on loan for Chornomorets, where he played 11 matches. In total, Mustafayev played 34 matches in Polissia, in which he scored three goals and five assists.

The player’s contract with the Zhytomyr club is valid until June 30, 2027, and according to the Transfermarkt portal, his transfer value is 350,000 euros.

After 16 rounds, Sumgait is in fifth place in the standings of the Azerbaijan Championship, having 27 points.
