During most of the match, the game took place in an equal and tense struggle with a lot of single combats and a minimum of scoring opportunities. Sevilla tried to act as number one, but could not turn the territorial advantage into real threats to the goal of Ionut Radu. Celta responded with dangerous counterattacks, in several episodes the Andalusian team was saved by Odysseas Vlahodimos.
The key moment came at the end of the match, when the referee awarded a penalty to Sevilla after a foul by Oso in the penalty area. Marcos Alonso confidently executed the penalty kick, striking an accurate shot into the corner and leaving the goalkeeper without a chance.
In stoppage time, the home team tried to save themselves, creating several half-moments, but Celta’s defense stood firm. In the end, the team from Vigo took three points, while Sevilla missed the opportunity to add to their points tally in the home match.
