Manchester City could not break the series of unsuccessful results in the English Premier League, drawing with Brighton in the match of the 21st round — 1:1. Pep Guardiola’s team opened the scoring at the end of the first half, but after the break they allowed the opponent to win back.

In the 41st minute, Erling Holland confidently converted the penalty awarded after a foul on Jeremy Dok. This goal marked the anniversary, the Norwegian forward’s 150th goal for Manchester City, as well as the 35,000th in the history of the Premier League.

After the break, the home team had chances to consolidate the advantage – in particular, Bernarda Silva hit the bar, and Holland himself threatened Verbruggen’s goal several times. However, in the 60th minute, Brighton equalized: Kaoru Mitoma restored parity with an accurate shot from outside the penalty area.

In the final minutes, the teams exchanged moments, but no one managed to win. Manchester City ended up with a third successive draw in the Championship, further complicating their position in the title race, while Brighton picked up a vital point away from home.
