Rayo Vallecano and Getafe played a draw in the match of the 18th round of the Spanish La Liga. The match in Madrid finished 1:1, with decisive events taking place at the end of each half.

The hosts took the lead before the break. In the first minute of stoppage time, Jorge de Frutos took advantage of a pass from Unai López and opened the scoring with an accurate shot that allowed Rayo Vallecano to go into the break with a minimal lead.

In the second half, Getafe gradually increased the pressure and created chances in front of Augusto Battaglia’s goal. The perseverance of the visitors was rewarded already in stoppage time — in the 90th + 1st minute, Mauro Arambarri headed in Luis Milia’s pass from the set piece, equalizing the score.

In the end, a 1:1 draw did not allow any of the teams to take a significant step forward in the standings, and the Madrid derby ended in a division of points.
