The hosts opened the score in the 27th minute — Joshua Zirkze scored a shot after a ricochet, taking advantage of a mistake by the visitors’ defense. However, closer to the break, Wolverhampton increased the pace and were rewarded for their activity: in the 45th minute, Ladislav Krejci equalized with a header from several meters.
In the second half, the teams exchanged dangerous moments. Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens saved his team several times, and at the end of the meeting Patrick Dorgu even sent the ball into the net, but the goal was canceled after VAR review due to offside.
In the end, Wolverhampton picked up just their third point of the season and their first since the start of October, while Manchester United finished the year sixth in the table, missing out on a top-four finish.
