The London native, who is eligible to play for the Ghanaian national team through one of his grandfathers, is keen to represent England at senior level.
According to the source, the Ghana Football Federation was closely monitoring the development of the 19-year-old player, but Gaven himself preferred England, for which he had already played in various age categories. In particular, he played for youth and youth national teams.
Aiden Geven joined Manchester United in February from Arsenal, for whom he made one official appearance. He suffered an ankle injury in England U-20s’ match against Switzerland in October, forcing him to be substituted at half-time and miss Japan in November.
In the current season, Gaven was substituted twice in EPL matches, and on December 4 he played for the first time in the starting line-up of Manchester United in the game against West Ham in the center of the back three. After that, he established himself in the starting line-up, playing all four of his next matches with noticeable progress.
The defender played particularly well in the match against Aston Villa on December 21, and in the match against Newcastle, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Manchester United, Gaven was recognized as the best player of the meeting.
