Upamecano’s agents insist on an amount of about 65 million euros, which should be effective from the first year after signing the new contract (2027). The club previously proposed that the clause would only be activated after a year.
Bayern are now considering meeting the player’s release clause, which would allow them to sign a deal and keep Upamecano for at least another year. In case of his transfer to another club, Munich will receive 65 million euros.
With interest from the likes of Real Madrid and PSG, Bayern’s management may have to compromise not only on the financial and sporting aspects, but also on the details of the contract.
