Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim spoke about the young players. His words are quoted by the BBC.

“I think the thing is the sense of self-importance that the club has.

Sometimes tough words aren’t bad words, sometimes tough times aren’t bad at all for young players. We don’t need to constantly praise and reward everyone in every situation.

You guys talk about players who publicly speak out against the club because they feel entitled to do so, and then the legends of the club say: if you don’t play, leave, because everyone around is wrong.

No, let’s stay and fight, let’s overcome difficulties – and maybe the coach will be wrong. I have a feeling that we have to fight this very feeling.

I will be the first to say that I will fail on the field. I have this feeling. We are not showing the game we should be showing, but off the field I am not letting the club down, I guarantee it.

We say that the players sometimes forget what it means to play for Manchester United, we as a club sometimes forget who we are. This is how I feel.

It’s about the environment: young players feel the right to respond to the coach with a photo on social networks. My office is open, but no one comes to me, that’s how problems should be solved.

We as a club need to change.

I didn’t say anything bad, I was talking about how lucky it is to play for Manchester United. Sometimes you play for United, you see a different reality – and you understand how different football can be and how lucky you are to be at Manchester United. That was my reference, but let’s move on,” Amorim said.
