Kyiv Dynamo announced the appointment of Ihor Kostyuk, who previously worked as the head of the main team with the prefix “acting” for several matches, to the position of head coach, after the dismissal of Oleksandr Shovkovskyi.

The president of “white and blue” Ihor Surkis commented on this appointment to the club’s media:

“Ihor Volodymyrovych is a talented coach who has been working at our club for many years. He has brought up several generations of talented young players, many of whom are currently playing at the highest level in top European championships.

He knows Dynamo’s youth well and is not afraid to trust young players who have already managed to prove themselves at the level of the first team. He is a coach who knows how to find the right approach to players.

During his work at the club, Kostyuk proved his professionalism and high qualification, he showed himself well as acting head coach in an extremely difficult period for the team.

The management of the club fully trusts Ihor Volodymyrovych and believes that he is capable of leading the team to its rightful place in Ukrainian and European football,” said the head of the capital club.

We will remind that Dynamo finished the first part of the season in fourth place, nine points behind the leaders, and the last match of the season will be played in the UEFA Conference League on December 18 against Armenian Noa.
