Thomas Frank’s team quickly took control of the game, and in the 26th minute they received a gift from the opponent: defender David Zima unsuccessfully cut the ball into his own goal after Romero’s slip. The Czechs, however, did not look doomed — Vicario saved Spurs several times, especially after Sanyang’s dangerous strike.
The beginning of the second half became decisive. The same Sanyang unsuccessfully engaged in a duel with Pedro Porro, which ended with a penalty awarded to his team. Mohammed Qudus confidently converted the penalty kick to score his first Champions League goal for Tottenham.
The pressure of “Spurs” did not end there. In the 79th minute, Xavi Simons earned another penalty and converted it himself, finally eliminating the question of the winner — 3:0.
