According to documents filed at London’s High Court, Bloom and his notorious Starlizard syndicate allegedly used Cottrell as a front to place bets on sporting events, mainly football matches, in the shadows.
The lawsuit alleges that Cottrell, who is a close associate of Nigel Farage and his former chief of staff, handed over full control of his bookmaker accounts, including on the S***e crypto platform, to Bloom’s people.
This allowed the Starlizard Syndicate to:
– Place bets on amounts that significantly exceed the limits for ordinary players.
– To hide the real source of money and the identity of the player, because bookies often block professional players of Bloom’s level.
– Earning profits without risk for Cottrell himself, who was simply providing his name.
Tony Bloom, who made his fortune in professional gambling, is known for his analytical company Starlizard, which is called the most successful betting syndicate in Britain. The lawsuit alleges that the syndicate earns around £600m a year.
