The head coach of Manchester United, Ruben Amorim, commented on his team’s defeat in the EPL match against Everton (0:1).

“I’m disappointed with the way we’re playing. Everton were the better team 11v11 and they defended very well in the ten for 70 minutes. We deserved to lose, we played badly.

I know where we are now. I will always talk about intensity. We have not yet reached, we are not even close to the point where we have to fight for the best positions in the league. We still have a lot to do and we have to be flawless to win. We weren’t perfect today.

But this is only a refusal. We have players on the field and we could have lost, but with a different intensity, with a different understanding of the moments when the opponent received such a red card. And I think we didn’t understand how to use our chances for 90 minutes. It’s my fault, I need to do a better job of explaining to the players how to play in each situation.

Today was a mistake not of one person, but of the whole team. Judging by the results, we should go on the field with a different attitude and motivation, that’s my opinion. It doesn’t matter if you play well or make good passes, what matters is the feeling itself. All these five weeks everyone praises our progress and I always say the same thing: we are not even close to where we should be at this club.
