Juventus opened the scoring just before the half-time whistle. In the fifth compensated minute, Filip Kostic took advantage of the commotion near De Gea’s goal and picked up the ball in time, sending it into the net. Turin generally acted more compactly and clearly in defense, trying to catch the opponent on mistakes.
However, the start of the second half turned the scenario. Already in the 48th minute, Rolando Mandragora restored the balance with a powerful shot from distance, causing a real explosion of emotions in the stands. After that, Fiorentina played much bolder and more than once created sharpness near Di Gregorio’s goal.
Juventus responded by trying to regain control, but rotations in attack – Miretti, Cabala, David and Openda coming out – did not make the desired difference. The match ended with a series of hard fights and yellow cards, but without a decisive goal.
Fiorentina once again showed that it is not easy for anyone in Florence, and Juventus lost an opportunity to catch up with their rivals at the top of the tournament table.
