Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens has made a bold statement about his readiness for challenges at Old Trafford, especially amid the lackluster spell of his predecessor, Andre Onan. ​

Lammens, who joined from Antwerp for £21.7m, replaced Onan, who was sent to Trabzonspor in September after a string of mistakes and huge criticism.

In an interview with the Belgian publication HLN, Lammens emphasized that he is not afraid to repeat the fate of the Cameroonian.

​”There’s been a lot of buzz around goalkeepers at Man Utd in recent years. They’ve had a lot of negative comments,” Lammens said, apparently referring to Onan’s difficult time.

“It didn’t bother me. I’m not afraid of that legacy.”

The Belgian has made it clear that he has arrived at the club with long-term ambitions to rewrite the history of the goalkeeping position following Onan’s failure. ​

“My dream is to play here for the next ten years, be important to the club and build my own legacy. I want to be the one people look up to,” the goalkeeper concluded.
