The head coach of Borussia Dortmund, Niko Kovacs, clearly stated the team’s goals for the current German Cup draw.

Ahead of the German Cup round of 16 tie against his former club, Eintracht Frankfurt, the coach stressed that the team’s ambitions extend to the decisive match. ​Despite the draw pitting Borussia against one of the strongest possible opponents at this stage, Kovacs insists the team are aiming for the maximum.

​”Our goal is the final. It doesn’t matter who and where,” the coach said at the press conference. ​

Niko Kovacs, who is known for his success in cup competitions. In particular, he won the German Cup with Eintracht, called the upcoming game an early final and urged his players to fully concentrate from the first minute. ​

“We got a very difficult draw,” Kovacs admitted. “Eintracht is a team that knows exactly how to play in cup matches. We have to be ready for an intense fight.”
