– The team’s streak of draws has finally ended. What are your emotions now?
– First of all, I thanked the team for the mood that was on the field, and that should always be. It was not easy for us: after the game with Samsunspor there was a flight, then a trip, and only today the players were able to rest properly. Recovery is as important a part of training as functional condition. We had a good understanding of the opponent’s strengths, held individual conversations with the players. It’s always nice to win, and the mood in the dressing room is completely different now than after the previous games.
– Can we say that today everything that was supposed to fly into the opponent’s goal flew, and if in the previous matches there had been such an implementation, the results would have been similar?
– We are constantly working on improving attacks, exits from defense and finishing attacks. Sometimes something works, sometimes not. Before that, we had a lot of opportunities that we couldn’t realize. Today the implementation was much better. We strive for each player to be the best version of themselves and are always working on it.
– Already in the second game, Mykhavko takes the position of left defender. Is it a situational decision or a search for a new position for him?
– We have many injured players. Dubinchak recently recovered, Tymchyk spent two and a half training sessions with the team, Bilovar and Shaparenko are injured, Yarmolenko returned from illness and spent only one training session with the team. As for Taras, we will have a rotation, he will get playing time. Vivcharenko asked for a replacement due to discomfort, which we agreed on in advance.
– Why did Yarmolenko play as a central striker today?
– This idea appeared a long time ago, but only today we were able to implement it.
“I congratulate the fans on the victory. We are saddened by the previous results, but we accept constructive criticism, and there is no need to hate the team. The players are also worried, and it is important to psychologically restore the team before the game. Each game should be entered with the maximum mood and responsibility. I congratulate the sincere fans and remind: it is important to support each other, especially in this difficult time, and I wish everyone victories in small and big affairs,” concluded Shovkovskyi.
