Brentford midfielder Antony Milambo has suffered a serious knee injury while playing for the Netherlands youth team in their UEFA Euro 2027 U-21 qualifier against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The match ended in a 0:0 draw, but the result was not the main thing for the 20-year-old player — he suffered a rupture of the cruciate ligament.

Sports doctor Dmytro Babelyuk reported on the nature of the damage. According to him, Milambo will miss the rest of the season.

“The future of Brentford’s attack, Anthony Milambo, whom the Bees bought for 20 million euros this summer, tore his cruciate ligament while playing for the Netherlands U-21. It’s a very unfortunate injury, because it will keep the player out of the game until the end of the season,” Babelyuk said.

Antony Milambo joined Brentford from Feyenoord this summer. The player managed to play three matches for the English club, without scoring any goals.
