Zorya Luhansk midfielder Deyan Popara commented on his move to the Luhansk club and also shared his thoughts on the meeting in Turkey.

“I’m very happy to be here, to join a team like Zorja. I’m 21 years old, from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I couldn’t wait for the training camp to start, to start working and meeting the players. My last club was Sloga from the elite division of Bosnia, for which I played 50 matches.

I spoke with general director Igor Viktorovich Guze and coach Mladen Bartulovich. I understood that we have a team with a long history and great potential. After talking with them, I have only positive impressions.

I have the opportunity to go through all the meetings from the beginning, get in shape, work productively and try to do everything to help the team. We speak, one might say, the same language with Petar Michin, Jean Trontel, Yakov Bašych and Gabriel Esquinha. The guys have already told me that we have a great team and have every chance to be as high as possible.

I play in the center of the field. Mainly — in the position of a supporting midfielder. But I can play even higher,” the press service of the club quotes Popary as saying.

After the first half of the season, Zorya scored 22 points in 16 rounds and is in eighth place in the UPL.
