After the end of the game, the defender of the “yellow and black” Vitaly Kholod commented on the performance of his own team.
“We weren’t quite in the mood at the start of the match, while Obolon did well in the opening game. The opposition put pressure on us and a quick goal knocked the team down – it was hard to get back together after that. Movement created chances, but the game didn’t go our way the start of the match.
There was a lack of concentration at certain moments. We didn’t play some episodes to the end – we didn’t always feel that the opponent would be the first on the ball, we lost a lot of fights, we started pressing late. It was a failed match for us.
Rukh always tries to play fast and dynamic football, press the opponent high. These are our standard instructions before the game, but this time we failed to follow the instructions of our coaching staff.
The team gave too much space to the players of Oboloni — they could think for a long time and qualitatively assess the situation, find free zones and push the ball forward.
It is a shame to suffer such defeats. Rukh plays well against the leaders, as an example – matches against Polissia, Kryvbas, Shakhtar, Oleksandria and Dynamo. In these matches, we play on equal footing with our opponents. And then the team goes out to play with opponents who are lower than us in class, and we fail these matches.
Perhaps the reason lies in our experience – we are still young players and cannot always adjust to the game correctly,” said the Ukrainian performer.
