“Yesterday, the enemy launched one missile and 55 air strikes against the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas, used five missiles and dropped 124 guided air bombs. In addition, he engaged 3,992 kamikaze drones and carried out 4,354 attacks on the positions of our troops and populated areas, including 122 from rocket salvo fire systems… Yesterday, the aviation, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit two areas of concentration of personnel and military equipment and the enemy’s artillery system,” the morning summary reads.
Exactly 100 attacks took place in the Pokrovsky direction in the Donetsk region, the General Staff informs.
“In the Pokrovsky direction, our defenders stopped 100 attacks by the aggressor in the areas of Mayak, Nikanorivka, Fedorivka, Chervyn Liman, Myrolyubivka, Pokrovsk, Lysivka, Zvirove, Novopavlivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novosergiivka, Muravka, Filia and Yalta settlements.
Measures are being taken to block the enemy trying to infiltrate and accumulate in the city of Pokrovsk. Attempts by enemy infantry groups to gain a foothold continue to be actively countered.
In Pokrovsk, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are carrying out strike and search operations. In particular, the assault units of the 425th Ukrainian Armed Forces, SBS operators, integrated groups of the SSpO, the VSP of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the National Security Service, and the GUR of the Ministry of Education and Culture were involved. The military units defending the city have been reinforced,” the message stated.
Battles also continued in the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk, South-Slobozhansk, Kupyansk, Lymansk, Slovyansk, Kramatorsk, Kostiantynovsky, Oleksandrivsk, Gulyaipil, Orihiv and Prydniprovsk directions.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine declared on November 5 that the defense of the Pokrovsko-Myrnograd agglomeration continues, and “there is no encirclement of our units and units.”
The day before, the American Institute for the Study of War stated in its report that Russian troops continue to advance in the Pokrovsky direction and operate “with increasing comfort” inside the city itself. Pokrovsk – a city with a population of about 1,250 people (estimated by the local authorities at the end of October, before the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation – more than 60,000) – is an important road and railway junction and was under threat of encirclement by Russian troops for most of the year.
The co-founder and analyst of the DeepState platform, Roman Pohorily, said on Radio Svoboda (Svoboda Live program) that Russian troops are gradually entering Pokrovsk and the situation around Mirnograd is becoming more and more dangerous. According to him, the enemy already has the opportunity to accumulate forces directly in the city, gradually “absorbing” Pokrovsk.
