On the eve of the fifth round of the UEFA Champions League, the Dutch Feyenoord drew against the English Manchester City on the opponent’s field.

After the game, the head coach of the “Southern” Brian Priske commented on the performance of his own team.

“First of all, it’s a great result for us, a really big result, without any doubt. At 0-3 and in some phases of the game we were dominated by Man City, who for me are the best team in the world. They have players of the highest class and play good football.

But we were able to realize three key moments, score three goals and get a draw. It hurt us a bit to concede before the break and then we conceded two goals early in the second half, although we were actually quite happy with the latter part of the first half.

We were a lot more compact this time and also had more possession where we could and should have caused City a bit more pain, so that’s something we tried to fix at half-time.

Then we missed from the standard, and then quickly the score became 3:0. After that, of course, everything depends on mentality and character.

I can only praise the boys for the way they approached the final part of the game because it certainly showed their mentality and character, discipline and the level of effort they put in. We know we have individual quality and we showed that with the three goals we scored today.

In the next round, the Dutch Feyenoord will host the Czech Sparta from Prague.
