Bayer striker Artem Stepanov is the youngest Ukrainian to debut in the Champions League.

He entered the field at the age of 17 years, 3 months and 16 days as a substitute in the match of the fifth round of the main stage of the Champions League against Salzburg (5:0).

Previously, the record belonged to Dmytro Chygrinsky, who made his debut for Shakhtar in the Champions League against Barcelona (2:0) at the age of 18 years and 1 month. In addition, Stepanov is the first Ukrainian who played in the Champions League before reaching adulthood.

It should be noted that Stepanov moved to Bayer in 2022 from Shakhtar, where he played for the U-17 team.
