The Italian Football Federation FIGC has accepted Serie A’s proposal to introduce an additional transfer window in the summer of 2025 for clubs to register new players for the Club World Cup. This is reported by Football-Italia.

According to the source, the request from Serie A was submitted on Thursday and within hours the FIGC approved it. The details of this decision are still being discussed.

The mini-window will be open from June 1 to June 10, 2025. It will apply to all Serie A clubs, not just Inter and Juventus, who will represent Italy at the 2025 FIFA World Cup.

With the Club World Cup taking place from June to mid-July, quite a few clubs risked finding themselves in a difficult position, as players’ contracts could expire in the middle of the tournament.

It was previously reported that the Costa Rican club wants to sue FIFA.
