Memory action
Traditionally, on September 16, a memory of George Gongadze will be held on Kontraktova Square. The word will be made by Miroslav Gongadze – public figure, journalist, expert on international politics, member of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian Institute, Senior Advisor on Ukraine Institute of State Efficiency in Washington, wife of George. Friends and colleagues of the journalist will also act at the action.
During the event, we remember all the dead media, as well as those whom Russia is still illegally held in captivity.

Georgy Gongadze Diary Exhibition
During the action in Kiev will be presented a street exposition “Diary of George Gongadze”. This is a series of George’s sign quotations with explanations of context and illustrations of Ukrainian Inga Levi and Anton Logov.
The exposition will also be seen in other cities:
- Lviv – opening on September 16 at 12:00 on Market Square. The opening will be attended by a journalist, the Media Amenger, the George Gongadze Prize winner in 2024 Tatiana Troshchinskaya and media critic, creative director of Lviv Media Forum Otar Dovzhenko.
- Odesa – opening on September 16 at 12:00 in the city garden.
Expositions in three cities will be available throughout the week of memory.
Professional dialogues
The George Gongadze Prize is holding a series of meetings “Professional Dialogues” as part of the memory Week. The events are open not only to the student, but also for the general public all interested (provided prior registration). Meetings provide for both the lecture part and active interaction with the audience. This is the second season of the Professional Dialogue Project.

Memory lesson
The Georgy Gongadze Prize team, together with the NGO Learning, developed a lesson in history and civic education: “GonGadze Case: When one voice is louder than the system.” The lesson is designed for students in grades 9-11. Any educational institution of Ukraine can get materials and hold it by filling in the form.
Georgy Gongadze’s online museum
The George Gongadze Prize team begins to work on the creation of Georgy Gongadze’s online museum. The aim of creating a virtual space where artifacts, articles, videos, texts and memories of George will be stored as an important figure in Ukrainian social and political life, a person who literally changed the course of history.
We urge to join the creation of a museum of people who personally knew George, private collectors, museums and archives. All testimony, artifacts, records and documents are of great importance.

A series of lectures
The Educational Space of the Charter-Hab, together with the historian and serviceman of the 2nd Corps of NSU “Khartia” Vakhtang Kipian will hold a series of lectures in Kyiv, Poltava, Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, dedicated to George Gongadze. It will be about the importance of his activity for the formation of Ukrainian consciousness.
