The Iranian ammunition storage arsenal in the Volgograd region was attacked with the help of 120 drones. This was reported by “Interfax-Ukraine” with reference to a source in military intelligence.
The Arsenal was attacked around 2:30 a.m. on September 29 with the help of 120 kamikaze attack drones of various types of Ukrainian production. The distance to the target is more than 600 kilometers. It was a joint operation of the GUR, SSO, SBU, SZR and ZSU. The storage arsenal of missiles, ammunition and explosive materials was hit 1st grade in the village of Kotluban. A large-scale fire started in the area of impact.
Damage to the arsenal of ammunition and missile weapons will lead to a shortage of ammunition to support the units of the Russian army.
Subsequently, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces officially announced that the Defense Forces of Ukraine had hit the Kotlubany military arsenal.
– Tonight, damage was inflicted on the arsenal of storage and modernization of missile and artillery weapons of the Russian occupiers near the village of Kotluban, Volgograd region. According to the available information, an echelon with Iranian missiles arrived at the arsenal on the eve of the strike, the statement said.
The military object had dense cover by means of EW and anti-aircraft defense, however, the units successfully completed their combat mission. A fire and the detonation of ammunition are observed on the territory of the arsenal, the General Staff of the Armed Forces added.
The operation was carried out by the Unmanned Systems Forces in cooperation with units of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, and the Security Service of Ukraine.
In the morning, the head of the Center for countering disinformation at the NSDC, Andriy Kovalenko, reported on his Telegram channel that an ammunition warehouse of the Main Directorate of Missile and Artillery Weapons of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was attacked in the Volgograd region, including Iranian ballistic missiles, their launchers, and Iranian ammunition.
On the night of September 29, explosions were heard in at least seven regions of Russia. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced about 125 intercepted and destroyed drones. 67 drones were allegedly destroyed over the Volgograd Region, 17 over the Belgorod Region, another 17 over the Voronezh Region, 18 over the Rostov Region, one each over the Bryansk and Kursk Regions and the Krasnodar Territory, and three more over the Sea of Azov.
