“I agreed to more than 30 decisions, including: Nariman Dzhelal – to Turkey, Alyona Hetmanchuk – representative of Ukraine to NATO, Andriy Melnyk – representative of Ukraine to the UN. These and other decrees will be issued soon, according to diplomatic procedures,” Zelenskyy said.

Nariman Dzhelal is the deputy chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, released from Russian captivity at the end of June 2024. We will remind, the previous ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar, was transferred to the post of ambassador to Poland in the fall.

Alyona Hetmanchuk is an Americanist, director of the “New Europe” Center, associate senior analyst of the US Atlantic Council, and a regular author of “European Truth”. Currently, the representative of Ukraine to NATO is Natalia Halibarenko, who was appointed to this position in July 2021.

Andrii Melnyk is the former ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, who is currently the ambassador of Ukraine to Brazil. Serhiy Kyslytsia, the current ambassador of Ukraine to the UN, was appointed in December 2019.

It will be recalled that after his appointment in early September, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga announced a number of personnel decisions and a revision of the foreign policy strategy. At the beginning of November, Zelensky noted that replacements and appointments are being prepared.

In response to Babel’s request, the Foreign Policy Department of Ukraine previously reported that there are no ambassadors in almost 30 Ukrainian embassies.
