Zelensky saw certain “pros” after Vitcoff’s statements about Russian -occupied regions

Against the backdrop of the controversial statements of US President, Steve Vitcoff, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his hope that Washington’s trust in the state-aggressor state would disappear over time.

“Unfortunately, a lot of information spread by certain people … very much coincide with the messages of the official Kremlin,” Zelensky stated, giving an example of “referendums” in the occupied Russian territories of Ukraine.

He regretted that “there are some high -level votes in the United States that are distributing … Russian narratives.”

“I think that Mr Vitcoff spent a lot of time in dialogue with Putin,” Zelensky added.

The President noted that Moscow, for example, had already made promises to cease fire, but it “did not work because Russian did not want to Russian.”

“And the unbelievers of Russian there will be more every day. I hope and really see this hope realistically. That all the narratives of the Russians – they will not trust them,” he summed up.

Prehistory:

• In an interview with journalist Tair Carlson, Vitcoff actually recognized “referendums”, which Russia conducted in the occupied territories in 2022.
• In the same interview, Vitcoff stated that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is incompatible with a potential peace agreement with Russia.
