Details: According to sources, people who manage the White House communication systems were not informed in advance when DOGE representatives rose on the roof of the neighboring building of the Eisenhower Presidential Administration to install a terminal that connects users of the complex with Starlink satellites belonging to a private rocket company.

According to the interlocutors, those who manage systems could not control such connections to prevent the leakage of confidential information from the complex or the penetration of hackers.
It was not possible to check whether the terminal left on the roof installed and whether something will change now when Musk departed from the government.
In February, the WiFi Guest network appeared on the White House phones, which, according to people, asked users to enter only a password, not a user name or other authentication form. This WiFi network still appeared on the White House visitors’ phones this week.
The White House redirected the issue of the US Secret Service, which said it could not discuss specific technological systems for security reasons.
“We knew about Doge’s intentions to improve Internet access in the campus and do not consider this issue an incident or security violation,” said Anthony Huglielm, a spokesman for secret service.
Traditionally, in the White House, personal phones in WiFi guest networks require names and passwords that are tracked and end in a week. Some former White House officials appealed to the Democrats on the House of Representatives Committee with their fears, but the committee members did not answer their questions about Starlink, said a representative of these Democrats.
Installation of the Starlink on the roof, which was initially reported by the New York Times, caused confrontation between Doge staff and the secret service. The White House staff had not been reported before the counteraction.
