The document was published earlier this week after the Hegset team in Pentagon announced plans to reorganize the Higher Military Command.
In his statement on Thursday, Pentagon Shan Shan Parnell confirmed that Hegset “would be facing the highest military leadership at the beginning of next week,” but did not provide any additional details.
Hegset’s order, according to people who are familiar with this issue, extends to all senior officers in the rank of brigade general or higher, or their equivalent to the Navy, who serve in team positions, as well as their higher advisers-military servicemen.
Higher conflict commanders and higher military leaders stationed in Europe, the Middle East and the Asian-Pacific Region are expected to take part in the meeting.
There are about 800 US generals and admirals in the United States and dozens of other countries.
The publication notes that none of his interlocutors could remember that the Minister of Defense ever ordered to gather so many generals and admirals. Some said it caused anxiety about security.
“People are very concerned. They have no idea what it means”, “one of the sources said.
Others have been disappointed that even many commanders stationed abroad will be obliged to participate in the meeting, and some have questioned the feasibility of such a step.
“This will cause the command to simply decrease if something happens,” one of the representatives of the defense department said.
It is worth noting that on September 5, US President Donald Trump signed an executive decree to grant the US Ministry of Defense of an additional name – the Department of War.
From now on, US Secretary of Defense is authorized to use additional title – Minister of War – and can be recognized as the title in official correspondence, public communications, solemn events and non -statutory executive documents.
