Weather Forecast: Cold Front and Rain Expected Across Ukraine

On Monday, April 6, Ukraine will experience a significant change in weather as an atmospheric front moves in, bringing rain, strong winds, and a drop in temperatures. This forecast was shared by meteorologist Natalka Didenko.

Rainfall is expected to affect the western and northern regions initially, spreading throughout the central areas, as well as Odesa and Kharkiv regions during the day. However, the eastern regions, including Luhansk and Donetsk, along with most of southern Ukraine, are likely to remain dry.

Didenko warned of strong northwesterly winds, with gusts reaching up to 15-20 meters per second. This change in weather will also result in a noticeable drop in temperatures, particularly in the western and northern parts of the country, where daytime highs will range from +9 to +12 degrees Celsius. Other areas may still experience warmer conditions, with temperatures reaching +12 to +19 degrees Celsius.

In Kyiv, the weather on Monday will be cloudy and windy, with rain and temperatures dropping to between +10 and +12 degrees Celsius.

As the week progresses, a further decrease in temperatures is anticipated, with Didenko indicating that some areas may even see wet snow. Clearer conditions during the week could lead to the possibility of frost.

Looking ahead to Easter, temperatures are expected to remain cool, hovering around +9 to +12 degrees Celsius. Most regions will likely see sunshine, with rain predicted only in the southern parts on April 12.

April Weather Overview

Didenko previously noted that temperatures are expected to gradually fall to daytime highs of +4 to +9 degrees Celsius by mid-week, with nighttime temperatures potentially dipping into the negatives.

The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center forecasts that the average monthly temperature for April will be between +8 and +11 degrees Celsius. Precipitation levels are expected to be within the norm, with anticipated rainfall of 30-50 mm, representing 80-120% of the climatic average.
