Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury in a rematch, which took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the night of December 22, and became the heavyweight champion of the world according to the versions of WBC, WBA, WBO.

The Ukrainian boxer won by a unanimous decision of the judges – 116-112, 116-112, 116-112 – based on the results of 12 rounds.

In June, the absolute world champion in heavyweight Oleksandr Usyk gave up the championship belt according to the IBF version.

On the night of May 18-19, a fight between Usyk and the British Tyson Fury took place. The fight lasted all 12 rounds. In the ninth round, Usyk knocked Fury down, but he was able to continue the fight. In the end, the Ukrainian won, according to the split decision of the judges, winning the title of absolute world champion in heavyweight. The contract obliged the rivals to hold a rematch.

This is Oleksandr Usyk’s 22nd consecutive victory.

Before Usyk, Lennox Lewis held the title of absolute heavyweight champion in boxing in 1999, who ended his career after a fight with Vitali Klitschko in 2003.
