Voting took place on the eve of the meeting of world leaders on September 22 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, at which Britain, France, Canada, Australia and Belgium are expected to formally recognize the Palestinian state.
The Declaration, approved by 193 members of the General Assembly, condemns attacks against Israel, made by Palestinian militants Hamas on October 7, 2023, which provoked war in gas.
It also condemns Israel’s attacks on civilian population and civilian infrastructure in gas, siege and famine, “which led to a devastating humanitarian catastrophe and a crisis in the field of protection.”

The United States described the vote as “another false and untimely advertising trick”, which undermines serious diplomatic efforts to end the conflict.
Israel, who has long criticized the UN for not condemning Hamas by name for attacks on October 7, rejected the declaration as one -sided and called the voting theater.
