It is noted that at least Trump’s rating remains higher than for most of the presidency of his predecessor, Democrat Joe Baiden, the results of the Reuters/Ipsos survey indicate that many Americans are dissatisfied with his steps.
About 83% of respondents said the US President should obey the federal court decision, even if he does not want it.
57% disagreed with the statement that “it is normal for the US President to stop funding universities, if the president does not agree with how they are governed.”
66% do not believe that the president should control leading cultural institutions, such as national museums and theaters.
The survey showed that on a number of issues – from inflation and immigration to taxation and rule of law – the number of Americans who do not approve of Trump’s activities is greater than the number of those who approve.
In terms of immigration, its strongest support, 45% of respondents approved Trump’s work, but 46% did not approve.
About 59% of respondents, including a third of the Republicans, said America is losing authority on the world stage.
The study lasted within 6 days. In total, 4 306 respondents were interviewed. The statistical error does not exceed 2%.
Meanwhile, recently published Gallup survey results showed that the Trump approval rating in the first quarter of its second term was 45% – more than in the same period of its first term.
