“What Russia is doing is disgusting,” Trump said.
Trump also noted that it is not sure that sanctions are able to restrain Putin, but the US still intends to apply them.
“We are going to impose sanctions – I do not know whether they are concerned about sanctions. They know about sanctions. I know more about all sanctions and tariffs. I do not know if we will have this effect, but we will do it,” the US President stressed.
Prehistory:
- Earlier this week, Trump stated that the United States would impose duties and other measures against Russia in 10 days, if Moscow does not demonstrate progress in the end of the war in Ukraine.
- Following such a statement by Trump, the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev threatened the United States with war.
- The American Republican Senator Lindsey Graham advised Russia to contact the countries that buy Russian oil and gas, supporting the Russian military car to find out whether they share the Kremlin’s position on sanctions.
