He stated that from August 1, the United States will start applying 30% of imports from the European Union and Mexico.
A few days before, the US President has stated that since August, 35 percent duties to Canadian imports in the United States, as well as plans to apply tariffs of 15-20% to the rest of the trading partners.
Prehistory:
- The US trade negotiations with Canada and the European Union are still intensively continuing. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Liaien has stated that the European Union was “working day and night” to reach an agreement.
- The EU previously proposed the US to set a universal tariff of 10% for European goods with exceptions for some sectors.
