US President Donald Trump announced the Stargate initiative – a joint project of OpenAI, SoftBank and Oracle aimed at investing up to 500 billion dollars in the development of artificial intelligence infrastructure in the United States.

Details: During the announcement at the White House, Trump said that Stargate will start with an initial investment of $100 billion. with the prospect of increasing it to 500 billion dollars. over the next four years. The project involves the construction of large data centers, starting in Texas, to support the development of artificial intelligence.

“This will be the most important project of this era,” Altman said.

Stargate aims to expand opportunities for training and launching new AI models. The company will first build a data center in Abilene, Texas, which is already under construction, and then expand to other states.

“This project will not only support the reindustrialization of the United States, but also provide a strategic opportunity to protect the national security of America and its allies,” OpenAI said in a statement.
