Exitpol, conducted by Avangarde, predicted that Simion would take the first place with 30% of the voters inside Romania. The second place in this forecast was shared by Antonescu and Dan – 23%.
According to political observers, the victory of Simion can isolate the country, undermine private investment and destabilize the Eastern Flang of NATO, where Ukraine has been opposing the Russian invasion for the third year.
Reference: The AUR Party, whose leader is Simion, opposed providing Ukraine with weapons and categorically denied the transfer of Romanian Romanian Patriots.
AUR also opposed the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products by Romania and tried to organize protests at the border.
One of the leaders of Aur, Claudio Tirziu, expressed the need to access the Ukrainian territories that once belonged to Romania, stating that without such “association” Romania would not be able to be realized as a state.
