Details: Iran’s president has called Russia’s war against Ukraine “aggression” and denied that his country has supplied Russia with ballistic missiles since he took office in July 2024. He also promised not to do this in the future, although he did not mention the drones that his country supplies to Russia.

According to Pezeshkian, Iran is ready to “sit down at the negotiating table with the Europeans and the Americans to conduct dialogue and negotiations” amid accusations of supplying missiles.

Added: The head of the European Council, Charles Michel, met in New York with Pezeshkian and during the meeting expressed his concern to the Iranian president about the supply of weapons to Russia, destabilization of the region through mediators, detained EU citizens, the nuclear program and the human rights situation.

The Wall Street Journal’s Laurence Norman was told by a source that Michel told Pezeshkian that relations between Iran and Europe were at an all-time low.

He pressed the Iranian president on issues of human rights, the nuclear program, regional destabilization, the supply of missiles and European prisoners in Iran.

What preceded:

Pezeshkian became the president of Iran after the death of his predecessor Ibrahim Raisi in a plane crash.

We will remind:

  • Western media reported that Iran has already transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia. Some sources said more than 200 missiles.
  • The Reuters agency, which first reported on the preparation of the transfer of ballistic missiles from Iran to Russia, wrote that it could be Fath-360 – a system that launches ballistic missiles with a maximum range of 120 kilometers and a warhead weighing 150 kilograms.
  • The National Security Council of the White House said that if Iran transferred or transferred ballistic missiles to Russia, it would be a “dramatic escalation.”
  • A member of the Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy of the Iranian Parliament, Ahmad Bakhshayesh Ardestani, admitted that Russia had been sent Iranian ballistic missiles, which it needs to attack Ukraine.
